Walking Through Bubbles Farm
Theme: Perseverance
Caregiver Tip: Join in the play for this activity. Keep it playful and fun. Let your child repeat movements and slowly make them more challenging.
Set the Scene:
Sing to the rhythm of Walking in the Jungle:
“Walking in the farm, walking in the farm…
What do we see? What do we see?”
Let your child choose an animal they see on the mat such as:
· “I see a cow!”
· “I see a duck!”
· “I see a goat!”
Caregiver sings:
Example : “We see a cow… let’s try walking like one.”
Caregiver does the animal movement, saying, “ Let’s walk like a ....”
· Cow — slow stomps
· Goat — little jumps
· Sheep — tiptoe steps
· Duck — waddle-waddle
· Dog — happy hops
· Horse — big gallops
· Pig — wiggle wiggle
Perseverance Moment: Let your child copy and repeat the animal movements, even if they find it tricky. Allow your child to repeat the same movement a few times. Give them time to adjust and try again. The goal is effort and fun – not doing it perfectly
Words of encouragement:
1. Shall we try again?
2. Walking like a cow is tricky! You’re doing so well!
Make it more challenging:
· Walking quietly…
· Walking fast…
· Walking silly…
Or pass the lead to your child, saying, “I will follow you this time.”
Learning Through Play:
· Perseverance learned through movement
· Body awareness & coordination
· Confidence through repetition
